Opening Hours:

Sometimes it is difficult to get away from the 9-5 grind of work. Here at North Ryde Dentistry we understand that appointments like going to the dentist or the doctor take a backseat because it’s almost impossible to get away from the office when there are important deadlines to meet

That is why we have extended our opening hours to fit around your busy schedule. Thursday night is traditionally late night shopping night at Macquarie Shopping Centre.

North Ryde Dentistry opens until 9pm on Thursdays to cater for the busy individual. In addition, we are able to see patients during normal lunch hours if that is the only time you can get away. Just ask our friendly staff.

Extractions:

How many times have we heard the horror stories of teeth extractions? Unfortunately, sometimes teeth become damaged by trauma or decay so much that it becomes impossible to fix. At times it is better to remove a bad tooth than try to keep it.  Some other reasons why a tooth needs to be removed are:

  • To make rooms for orthodontics
  • Gum disease causing the teeth to become sore and loose
  • Impacted wisdom teeth causing gum swelling and pain
  • Cracked teeth

Teeth extractions have always been associated with pain, gore and brute force. This cannot be further from the truth in modern dentistry. How many times have you heard from a friend that the dentist have to knee of their chest to get the tooth out? These days are long gone. It is extremely rare that excessive force is required to remove a tooth

Care after an extraction can be just as important as the procedure itself. Your dentist will advise you of the best way to care for the area where the tooth had been extracted.  Most commonly it important to rest after the procedure and not to overly exert yourself, allowing the body time to heal. In most instances patients feel fine after the procedure and are able to continue their busy lives without too much fuss.

I Graduated from Sydney University Bachelor of Dentistry with Honours. During my University studies, I was awarded the University of Sydney Academic Merit prize, awarded to the top performing student in each faculty.
